[...] In their own similar end-of-the-year post, Outreach magazine (spurred on by Tony Morgan) has released it’s list of 25 churches that are the most innovative in their ministry. I’m not going to list them, you can find it elsewhere. (Here’s a link). [...]

  2. Notes from the Trail » 25 most influential churches - December 22, 2006

[...] It’s a stellar list, I’ll have to admit. However, how do you really measure influence? These churches are either huge or have been hyped. Most of them are strong churches. However, do you ever notice that it’s always churches in urban areas that our church growth-ers enjoy pointing to as “model” churches? Me, I think there is some dynamic ministry being done in rural areas by churches that refuse to succumb to “the way we were” and simply urge people toward “the way.” Of course, I’m not biased in the least. ;) Bookmark to: Filed under: Snippets by Jeff @ 10:40 pm | | Top    [...]

[...] With the new year upon us, a lot of people are still making (or have started breaking) New Year’s resolutions.  All organizations, churches included, should also be thinking ahead, planning for the next year and the future.  If your church seems to be functioning successfully, keep doing what you’ve been doing, while continually seeking the Lord’s direction.  If not, maybe it’s time to try something new – something innovative.  Outreach Magazine recently published an article about the 25 most innovative churches(see the list).  The article is interesting - each church is serving God in its own unique way.  However, innovation isn’t the only way to serve God.  Below are four paradigms for ministry that have been successful for others, and may suitable for adaption.  1) A “No Perfect People” Policy [...]

  10. Notes from the Trail » Innovative churches… or not? - January 24, 2007

[...] You might recall my entry about the innovative church list that looked more like a popularity contest. Seems they caught more flack over it than they anticipated, and now there’s a rankable innovative church list that you can vote on yourself (and even add your entries) here. You’ll need to register (for free) at Squidoo to vote, but it’s worth your while to do so. [...] It looks like the first online game in which organized evangelism efforts may bear fruit is Second Life, a virtual-life simulation that made the news recently when the government of Sweden announced the creation of a functioning Swedish embassy within the game world. Well, if the government can have a presence in a virtual gameworld, so can the church: at the blog of LifeChurch.tv (a church that topped the list of America’s most innovative churches), pastor Bobby Gruenewald notes briefly that Lifechurch.tv has definite plans to create an official presence in the Second Life gameworld: We actually have an island in SecondLife that we are working on. It will be a several weeks until it is all launched, but it is on the way. [...]

  12. iPodJesus » Blog Archive » Relevância o assunto do momento. - February 20, 2007
