As society has become more tech savvy and gamer oriented, youth groups have upgraded from ping pong tables to Xboxes. The world is increasingly becoming more interactive, and youth pastors seem to quickly adapt to the quick paced change.
Designer Marcel Neundörfer seems to have taken video games and interactivity to the next level by creating urinal video games. Yes, it’s true. Each game is controlled by a pressure-sensitive screen inside the urinal. For further reading, check out Yanko Design and Trend Hunter Magazine.
Two thoughts come to mind with this quirky story:
First, will I ever see a youth ministry install these video games? I would think not, but then again, we can probably all think of some youth pastors that would install them if they could.
Second, the world, including restrooms, is only going to become more interactive and cluttered by advertising. Regarding restrooms, check out ESPN’s interactive urinal advertisement from Brazil. Kids should love it.
We live in an interesting world.
