According to a recent survey by the Leichtman Research Group:
- 81% of all U.S. households have at least one computer
- 53% of all U.S. households have a broadband high-speed Internet service
- 72% of all home Internet subscriptions are broadband high-speed connections
(up from 60% in 2006) - 7% of Internet subscribers say that broadband is not available in their area
Why is the growing popularity of broadband Internet important to the church?
- People are likely to use the Internet more often and much longer. Consequently, the necessity of online church communications grows with their usage.
- Church websites are able to be technically elaborate and sophisticated without losing a huge audience of dial-up users.
